Sharon
Glover joined the ABCFP in early 2007.
In her role as chief executive officer (CEO), Sharon is accountable
to council for ensuring the association fulfills
its mandate under the Foresters Act and
fulfills its strategic goals.
One of Sharon's primary goals is to ensure that
the government looks to the association and forest
professionals first when they are creating or
changing forest policy.
Sharon brings an extensive background in association
management, advocacy, government relations and
communications. Sharon came to the ABCFP from
the Ontario Society of Professional Engineers
where she was the chief executive officer. Sharon
has also owned and operated her own consulting
company and held senior positions with provincial
and national associations.
She holds a BA (Hons.) from the University of
Toronto in political science and economics, and
an MBA (Finance) from Queen’s University.

Randy Trerise, RPF

Randy
Trerise, RPF, joined the association
in 2007 and is based in Grand Forks. As the registrar and director of act compliance,
Randy oversees the ABCFP’s admissions, registration,
discipline, enforcement and accreditation activities.
Before joining the staff of the ABCFP, Randy
sat on council for five years, including one year
as president in 2005. He is a member of the FORREX
board of directors and has volunteered on many
other organizations in the past. Randy spent most
of his working career with Pope & Talbot and
holds a bachelor of science in forestry from UBC
and is also a graduate of the Silviculture Institute
of BC. |

Mike Larock, RPF

of Professional Practice & Forest Stewardship |

Mike
Larock, RPF, joined the association in 2007
and is based in Courtenay. As director of professional
practice and forest stewardship, Mike develops
and communicates professional standards, provides
guidance on professional practice matters and
leads the association’s forest stewardship
advocacy efforts.
Before joining the staff of the ABCFP, Mike
served on the ABCFP council as both member and
president (in 2001). He is also the current chair
of the board of examiners. Mike is an active member
of the CIF, North Island Woodlot Association,
Woodlot Product Development Council and is a honorary
member of ASTTBC.
He holds a BSc in forestry from UBC, is an accredited
silviculture surveyor and has a certificate from
the Silviculture Institute of BC. Mike is also
a woodlot licensee and private forest land owner. |

Amanda Brittain

of Communications |

Amanda Brittain, MA, ABC, rejoined the ABCFP in 2011. She has resumed her role as director of communications and will be focusing on strategic communications planning, recruitment and advocacy work. Amanda spent more than five years with the ABCFP in the past and is familiar with the joys and challenges of BC forestry.
Amanda has bachelor’s and master’s degrees in communications and over 15 years’ experience providing communications services to both corporations and non-profit organizations. She is also an Accredited Business Communicator (ABC) with the International Association of Business Communicators. |

Lance Nose

of Finance & Administration |

Lance Nose joined
the association in 1996. In his role as manager,
finance and administration, Lance ensures that the
association's finances are reported, managed and
budgeted in a responsible manner. He also oversees
administrative and human resources issues in the
office. Prior to joining the association, Lance
worked as a controller for a software company in
Vancouver. He has a business accounting diploma
from Red River Community College and has supplemented
his education with Certified General Accountant
(CGA) classes. |

Brian Robinson, RPF

Professional Development & Member Relations

Brian Robinson
joined the association in late 2006 and is based
in Kamloops. Brian leads the planning and organization
of the association’s professional development
activities, including the continuing competency
program, policy review seminars and fall workshops.
Brian is also responsible for the association’s
member relations.
Brian has been practising forestry for the last
26 years. Before joining the ABCFP, he was the
Kamloops branch manager of Industrial Forestry
Service Ltd. In addition to his forestry knowledge,
Brian has an extensive background in professional
development and is well known for his ability
to work with members on the practical application
of their professional obligations.
