Our START (STudent ARTiculation) program, offered to
high school and post-secondary students, is designed
to give students a head START on their way to becoming
a Registered Professional Forester (RPF) or Registered
Forest Technologist (RFT).
Benefits of START Membership
Membership in the START program will
give you 50% off a subscription to our magazine, BC
Forest Professional. In addition, the
START program gives you:
- Increased awareness of the profession and professionalism
issues.
- An annual subscription to the e-newsletter and other
association publications.
- Links to the Network of Forest Professionals (NFP).
- Networking opportunities with potential employers
and future colleagues through attendance at association
workshops, conferences, NFP meetings and annual meetings.
- Reduced rates at association workshops, conferences
and annual meetings.
- Access to the association’s member services
and affinity programs.
How much does START
cost?
It
costs $20 per year to join START. Half of this money
covers administration costs associated with the program
and half goes to ForesTrust, the association’s
charitable trust, to create scholarships and bursaries
for forestry students in the future.
How do I join START?
Joining START is easy.
- To pay by Visa or MasterCard, complete our online

- To pay by cheque, simply complete a START application
form and send it along with a cheque for $22.40 ($20
plus HST) to the association office.
