ABCFP
See Association of British Columbia Forest Professionals.

Association of British Columbia Forest Professionals
The Association of BC Forest Professionals (ABCFP) registers and regulates professional foresters and forest technologists under authority of the Foresters Act. [more]

Council
The council of the association as defined in Section 7 of the Foresters Act. [more]

Member
A member of the association who is within a class listed in Section 13 of the Foresters Act.

President
The president of the association referred to in Section 7(a) of the Foresters Act. [more]

Professional Forester
1. A title protected under the Foresters Act.
2. A member of the ABCFP who has met all entry and enrolment requirements, who has passed the registration exam, and who is entitled to engage in the practice of professional forestry in British Columbia; and meets the continuing competence and all other membership requirements of the association.
3. A holder of a special permit entitled to practise as a Registered Professional Forester.

RFT
1. A professional designation protected under the Foresters Act.
2. The professional designation of someone who is a Registered Forest Technologist. See also Registered Forest Technologist.

RPF
1. A professional designation protected under the Foresters Act.
2. The professional designation of someone who is a Registered Professional Forester. See also Professional Forester.

Registered Forest Technologist
1. A title protected under the Foresters Act.
2. A person admitted under Section 14 of the Foresters Act as a Registered Forest Technologist.
3. A member of the ABCFP who has met all entry and enrolment requirements, who has passed the registration exam, and who is entitled to engage in professional forestry practice: (a) under the supervision of a professional forester; (b) when carrying out work designed by a professional forester; or (c) independently carry out aspects of the practice of professional forestry as defined in the association’s bylaws and policies.
