I am a forest ecologist/ASFIT based in Smithers BC. I have gained substantial knowledge of forest ecosystems during my studies (B.Sc. Physical Geography, M.Sc. Forest Ecology) and professional experience with government agencies and industry. My areas of expertise include researching and analyzing forest resources and functions, as well as evaluating and implementing alternative silviculture treatments.

I have solid expertise in biometrics and resolving issues related to data management, and have been assisting other ecologists with statistics.

As a director of the Wetzink'wa Community Forest Board, I am also familiar with management plans and issue related to the implementation of new practices on the field.

I graduated from the Forest Resources Technology program at Vancouver Island University in April 2010.  Through school and previous employment I have experience recceing, laying out and traversing cut-blocks and roads, conducting stream assessments, collecting SP data, as well as mapping and data input into TFM and ArcMap.  I have also been exposed to plant species and soil identification, silviculture and harvesting systems, fire fighting and management, timber cruising, and BC forest legislation.  I have received training on the safe use of quads, snow-mobiles, defensive driving, Level 1 first aid and Transportation Endorsement, S-100 and S-185 training.  In addition to this education and training, I have also developed strong communication and organizational skills.  In May of 2009, I attended a field school in Ghana, Africa where, in conjunction with other team members, I was responsible for planning three weeks of meetings, consultations, and projects.  During the winter of 2011, I have also received training on harvester and forwarder operation in Finland.
