If you are no longer practising professional forestry in British Columbia or no longer wish to pursue registration, you may request to resign from the association.
How to Resign
- Determine your eligibility. To determine if you
are eligible to resign, please refer the applicable policy.
- Complete and submit the Change of Status Form, including the Professional Practice Questionnaire (if you are currently working in BC) and the Non-Practice Declaration form.

- Your request will be forwarded to the Board of Examiners or the Professional Practice Committee for consideration. Requests determined not to include the practice of professional forestry in BC as defined by the Foresters Act will be forwarded to council for final approval.
Property of the Association
If you resign from membership, you must surrender your Certificate of Registration or Special Permit, stamp and seal to the registrar and director of act compliance. These items will be returned to you should you later be reinstated.
Reinstating or Reapplying
If you later wish to return to practise, you may be eligible to reinstate to your former membership class and category. For more information about reinstating, see the Reinstatement page.
If you wait too long, you may be required to reapply anew. For more information about reapplying, see the Reapplying page.
