RFT
Registration Exam
About the RFT Exam
All exam writers who are writing the RFT exam for the first time will be required to write an exam that requires them to answer four of seven questions in four hours. These questions will test the candidates understanding of policy, and professionalism and the application technical knowledge in a professional context.
Note: We have a few writers still on the old exam format (where there was a Part A and a Part B). This format is being discontinued and will only be available to those who have previously written Part A and/or B. Part A is a test of professionalism and understanding of the requirements of the Foresters Act and the ABCFP Bylaws. The old Part B format is a test of a candidate’s technical knowledge in the four areas of the scope of practice for forest technologists as outlined in the Guidelines on the Scope of Practice for Registered Forest Technologists.
