Indictable Offences

Forest professionals are expected to establish and maintain a reputation for integrity. Our primary concern is with conduct that calls a forest professional’s suitability to practice forestry into question or that reflects poorly on the profession. The ABCFP bylaws provide the authority for council to reject an application for membership or to suspend or place terms on an existing member's membership for any individuals who have been convicted of an indictable offence or such other serious criminal offence.

When applying for membership, you must complete an Indictable Offence Declaration. Thereafter, you will be asked annually when renewing your membership whether there have been any changes to your Indictable Offence Declaration. Indictable Offence Declarations may be submitted by mail, fax or online.
