Volunteer With Us

We rely on approximately 1,000 volunteers each year to help us carry out our mandate. Without the efforts of our volunteers, we would not be able to provide such a wide range of programs and services. There are many opportunities for you to get more involved in your profession.

Join Your Local Network of Forest Professionals

Meet with your peers. Discuss forestry issues. Enhance your professional development. Get involved in your community. Help raise the profile of the profession. [more]

Submit Articles or Letters to BC Forest Professional Magazine
BC Forest Professional magazine seeks articles, letters, photographs, news and suggestions from members. We cannot pay you for submissions we publish, but you will get a real sense of satisfaction from seeing your article in print. [more]

Invigilate the Registration Exams
We hold registration exams annually on the first Friday of October. Registered members are needed to act as invigilators at locations throughout BC. [more]

Sponsor a New Member
Members working toward registration in BC must gain relevant work experience under the guidance of a sponsor. Active, registered members are needed act as sponsors for new members. [more]

Promote the Profession
Visit schools and career fairs in your area to get the word out about forestry and the exciting career opportunities available. If you have been asked to make a presentation or just want to promote your profession to ensure BC's forests will be in good hands long into the future, the tools on the Promote the Profession page will help you make a great impression. Join a Committee or Task Force
Our committees and task forces help us conduct our affairs and deliver a wide range of programs. They occasionally have openings for volunteers. [more]

Run for Council
Our council is responsible for governing the affairs of the association. It includes ten elected members. Active, registered members and retired members (including life members) can be nominated to stand for election to council. [more]
