Our voluntary Professional Development Program recognizes and provides a measure of the professional development activities of our members. Members who have completed 150 contact hours of professional development and continuing education over a five-year period are awarded an ABCFP Professional Development Certificate.

What Professional Development Activities Qualify?
We have identified five categories of activities that qualify under the Professional Development Program. The rate at which contact hours accrue and the number of hours that qualify under each category varies. These details are outlined in the Certificate of Professional Development application below.

How Do I Apply for a Certificate of Professional Development?
The Certificate of Professional Development application includes instructions and personal activity logs for each category of activity. Use these activity logs to track your professional development and continuing education over a five-year period. Once you have completed 150 contact hours, submit your application and personal activity records by mail or fax. All qualifying applicants will receive a Professional Development Certificate and their name will appear in BC Forest Professional magazine.

TD Insurance Meloche Monnex Continuing Education Award
The TD Insurance Meloche Monnex Continuing Education Award recognizes members for their personal commitment to ongoing professional development. All those who receive a Certificate of Professional Development are automatically eligible to win. Award winners will be selected randomly from all eligible applications received during the year (January 1 to December 31).
