Network of Forest Professionals

Our Network of Forest Professionals (NFPs), formerly the Professional Foresters' Networks, consists of members and non-members who have formed groups in communities around British Columbia. Their goals are to raise awareness about the profession of forestry, promote good forest stewardship and provide networking opportunities for resource professionals.

Join your local Network of Forest Professionals
Local NFP groups provide an opportunity to connect with peers, discuss forestry issues and become involved in the community and build relationships with the public, schools, government, politicians, media and other organizations.

How do I join?

Battle of the NFPs
Who better to communicate the role forests play in the environment, economy and communities of British Columbia to the public than the Network of Forest Professionals. Each September, during National Forest Week, we challenge NFP groups to come up with creative ways to promote National Forest Week and the forestry profession in their local communities. We are looking for battle plans that:

  • Increase public awareness about the profession of forestryGenerate media coverageInvolve as many people in the community as possible
  • Are innovative

We will evaluate battle plans based on how well they incorporate the criteria above. Bragging rights will be awarded to the winning NFP group. Battle plans should be submitted to the association's NFP coordinator in the last week of September. [more]
