Honorary membership recognizes an individual who is not a member of the association for outstanding contributions to forestry, the forestry profession or the association. It is the association’s highest honour for a non-member. Honorary membership is typically given for service to the profession and the association or for contributions to forestry that significantly improve forest practices, advance the profession, contribute to good forest stewardship, and improve public understanding of forestry or the profession.
Honorary members are not entitled to engage in the practice of professional forestry in British Columbia and do not enjoy voting rights.
They are entitled to use the title “ABCFP Honorary Member.”
